My Past Life

Ok, I wasn’t always a photographer. Fresh out of high school, I was just sure that I wanted to be a lawyer. So, I worked my way through college as a paralegal in various law firms. After more than a decade of dealing with the conflicts, injustice and nightmares from some of my extremely difficult cases, I decided to leave that life behind. I then became a full-time mom. Now that, in my humble opinion, is a worthwhile profession. However, kids grow up. Mine did, too. So, I found myself wondering what I should do with the rest of my life. After a number of years of trying out different things (interior design, real estate, etc.), I finally realized I should return to what I had always loved: photography and writing.

I am a published author and a full-time, professional photographer. It feels great to be pursuing my true passions in life. I have a wonderful and supportive husband and two great kids. What more could I possibly ask for?

New Blog – New Outlook

A lot has happened for our small studio in the last year. We are incredibly busy and excited about where our studio is heading. This new blog will be our primary repository for comments, ideas, stories and humorous musings on our business, photography in general and things we want our clients and potential clients to know about our studio.

We are taking some very bold steps in the near future to grow our business even more. So, we hope you will check back with us often.

Be sure to check out our website at: www.balsmanphotography.com.

Cheers!
